2021 Goldeneye Anderson Valley Pinot Noir Gowan Creek Vineyard

2021 Goldeneye Anderson Valley Pinot Noir Gowan Creek Vineyard

Located in the heart of the Anderson Valley, our Gowan Creek Vineyard features a unique terroir with elements from the valley’s warmer regions and its cooler, northern “deep end.” Offering an ideal southwestern exposure, and an array of unique vineyard blocks planted with clones of Pinot Noir carefully tailored to each site and soil type. The expressive wine produced from these vines displays beautiful inky depth and robust untamed fruit flavors.

  • Displaying heady aromas of blueberry, pennyroyal, sage and baking spices, this smooth and sultry wine beckons a first sip. On the palate it is rich and expansive, with velvety tannins and voluptuous flavors of ripe blackberry, purple plum and red-iron minerality building to a long, dramatic finish.

A PINOT
BACKSTORY

Goldeneye Winery was founded in 1996, years before the Pinot Noir boom that has reshaped the landscape of California winemaking. But the genesis for Goldeneye goes back even further. In 1990, after fifteen years of making world-class Bordeaux-varietal wines, Dan and Margaret Duckhorn embraced their growing love of Pinot Noir. Their vision for Goldeneye was simple, though not easy. They wanted to found a winery that could make a terroir-inspired expression of California Pinot Noir of equal stature to the acclaimed Merlots they had pioneered at Duckhorn Vineyards in Napa Valley.
