2018 Goldeneye Anderson Valley Pinot Noir Split Rail Vineyard
Sold Out

Our Split Rail Pinot Noir comes from the cool western edge of the Anderson Valley, where coastal fog and wind
lengthen the growing season, allowing the grapes to slowly develop silky tannins and beautifully intense flavors of fruit and spice. Blended from multiple clones to accentuate its layered complexity, it is lush and flowing on the palate, offering alluring notes of juicy boysenberry, black raspberry, pennyroyal, anise and sweet baking spices.

		Winemaker Notes
From its plush tannins to its beautifully intense flavors of fruit and spice, this is a dynamic and complex Pinot Noir with aromas of juicy boysenberry, black raspberry, pennyroyal, anise and chanterelles. On the palate the fruit flavors are intense and alluring, with black plum and boysenberry pie layers framed by refined tannins and a firm, mouthcoating structure that glides to a bright, baking spice and ripe berry finish.
		Production
The 2018 growing season was one of the finest Anderson Valley Pinot Noir vintages of the past decade. A dry winter and a cool, damp spring delayed budbreak and bloom by several weeks, and helped the vines to avoid any potential spring frost issues. Lovely weather throughout summer allowed for abundant hangtime and ideal ripening, leading to our first Pinot Noir pick on September 12th. The temperate weather continued into autumn, ensuring that we were able to pick every block and vineyard at the height of perfection. As a result, our 2018 wines are beautifully aromatic, with striking natural acidity, rich textures and alluring varietal flavors.

Superb, on-point Pinot Noir from the deep end of Anderson Valley with fresh, focused blueberry, pomegranate, and boysenberry flavors laced with baking spices on the finish.
