Located in the heart of the Anderson Valley, our Gowan Creek Vineyard features a unique terroir with elements from the valley’s warmer regions and its cooler, northern “deep end.” Offering an ideal southwestern exposure, and an array of unique vineyard blocks planted with clones of Pinot Noir carefully tailored to each site and soil type. The expressive wine produced from these vines displays beautiful inky depth and robust untamed fruit flavors.

Varietal Composition: 100% estate Pinot Noir
Winemaker Notes
Exuding fragrant layers of blackberry, blueberry, ripe red plum, black tea, anise and pennyroyal, this wine is dark, rich and complex. The blue and black fruit flavors are echoed on the bright and juicy palate, where they are underscored by a shimmering cool-climate acidity that provides length and persistence to a long, mouth-filling finish.
Production
The 2018 growing season was one of the finest Anderson Valley Pinot Noir vintages of the past decade. A dry winter and a cool, damp spring delayed budbreak and bloom by several weeks, and helped the vines to avoid any potential spring frost issues. Lovely weather throughout summer allowed for abundant hangtime and ideal ripening, leading to our first Pinot Noir pick on September 12th. The temperate weather continued into autumn, ensuring that we were able to pick every block and vineyard at the height of perfection. As a result, our 2018 wines are beautifully aromatic, with striking natural acidity, rich textures and alluring varietal flavors.
