Product on Backorder

In 1996, building on the tradition of excellence they established at Duckhorn Vineyards, Dan and Margaret Duckhorn embraced their growing love of Pinot Noir and came to Anderson Valley to found Goldeneye. In the years since, Anderson Valley has earned acclaim as one of the world’s greatest regions for Pinot Noir. Crafted predominantly from our estate vineyards and shaped by the influence of the wind, water and fog, this wine embodies both the elegance of Anderson Valley Pinot Noir, and its deep, rustic beauty.

		Winemaker Notes
A classic expression of Anderson Valley Pinot Noir, this wine begins with enticing aromas of bright cranberry, strawberry, blueberry and blackberry, as well as savory hints of black tea, dried herbs, pennyroyal and saddle leather. The lush fruit notes are echoed on the flavorful palate, where they mingle with layers of moist earth and wild mushrooms, with firm tannins and bright acidity carrying the wine to a poised and polished finish.
		Production
The 2018 growing season was one of the finest Anderson Valley Pinot Noir vintages of the past decade. A dry winter and a cool, damp spring delayed budbreak and bloom by several weeks, and helped the vines to avoid any potential spring frost issues. Lovely weather throughout summer allowed for abundant hangtime and ideal ripening, leading to our first Pinot Noir pick on September 12th. The temperate weather continued into autumn, ensuring that we were able to pick every block and vineyard at the height of perfection. As a result, our 2018 wines are beautifully aromatic, with striking natural acidity, rich textures and alluring varietal flavors.
